Refuse VS Deny
Sometimes learners often have problems distinguishing between them.
Refuse:
Say firmly that you will not do it.
Roman:
Inkar kar dena / mana karna,
Example:
1. She refused to go with me.
Usne mere sath jane se inkar kar dia.
2. We offered him a car but he refused it.
Hum ne use car offer ki lekin mana kar dia.
Usne mere sath jane se inkar kar dia.

Deny:
To say that something is not true.
Roman:
Manne se inkar karna.
Example:
1. He denied the truth.
Us ne such manne se inkar kar diya.
2. He denied his son's fault.
Us ne apny betey ke ghalti manne se inkar kar diya.
Us ne such manne se inkar kar diya.
2. He denied his son's fault.

Note:
One useful way of remembering the difference between 'refuse and deny' is to look at their opposite meanings.
Opposite of 'Refuse' is 'Accept'.
Opposite of 'Deny' is 'Admit'.
Opposite of 'Refuse' is 'Accept'.
